Want to put the ACB nomination in historical context and see whether there's anything to be done about the toxic cloud enveloping Supreme Court confirmations? Try my new book - and I'll send you a signed book plate.

I can't wait to work with , , , , and everyone else at Cato. I don't think I could have found a better fit anywhere else.

RIP Walter Williams. As busy as he was, he was kind enough to respond to me in an email about my book last year.

But wait, everyone is telling me member states can do their own thing & that Britain’s speedier process is not about Brexit? The costs of delay given the massive costs of COVID are *enormous*. But that’s the European tendency to hug the precautionary principle in action.

"Blunderbuss shutdown orders have overstayed their constitutional welcome, and it’s great to see the Supreme Court’s starting to guard the guardians." Spot on analysis by Also, *Blunderbuss* is a great word, but you rarely get to use it in a sentence. Nicely done.

The old lever-and-curtain system was the best. Those companies/factories that made them have disappeared, but I would support an America First industrial policy that brings them back. Or just use paper and pencil.

My mere posting of the Supreme Court’s “Thanksgiving miracle” — the ruling in Diocese of Brooklyn v. Cuomo — generated some interest here, so here’s a 1,500-word explainer on the case.

Amazing article about the future of the Ninth Circuit. That court skews old and many judges are waiting to see who controls the Senate before deciding whether to retire.

Fascinating thread on an important new study. Tl;dr for voting, culture > economics.
