I want you to unpack this for me. I want you to convince me. Because I consider sports a subdomain of conflict and even war, despite the framing of play.
life would be different if our culture acknowledged that 'sports' are a subdomain of 'the arts'. it's all aesthetics and human drama and jocks are just deeply in character.

'the arts' are creatively invented frameworks to create meaning and emotion through metaphor, simulation, aesthetic choices. this describes sports as well. the metaphors of sport may often be war-like, but the same is true of the metaphors in much art.
