I'm completely disgusted by the supreme court ruling and evidence of their desire to go much, much further in repealing personal freedoms and protections.

XIII - Serenity and Change A personal piece after a really rough month. This has been a time of loss for me, so I wanted to channel that feeling into something inspired by the classic RWS depiction of the Death tarot card 🦋🃏

I still listen to songs and think "Man, this would be a killer song to use for an AMV" but I don't watch much anime anymore LOL. if you want to tempt me, post your favorite ACTION series from the past few years in the replies.

I'm not sure I agree with that anymore. I'm not sure how I will feel watching the series. But I am excited that I will have vastly more people to talk to about why Nynaeve is cool or how Bela is secretly the Creator.

Everyone is going to compare this to Game of Thrones but really, they're not similar at all. GoT is low fantasy, morally gray and ultimately has a rather dim outlook on humanity. Wheel of Time champions that good triumphs over evil, that humans are fundamentally good.

I hope it channels (heh) a bit of what made it so special to me as a book series. I hope that others can take away some of the sense of wonder. I feel that today, anno domini 2021, it's harder to see "good vs evil" as a compelling storytelling vehicle.

By the time the series finished, my taste had evolved somewhat. I don't consider it my absolute favorite series of all time, but it certainly had an incredible impact on me growing up. It feels surreal to think that tomorrow, the TV series is launching.
