There is a lot to say about political eschatology. Not quite as bleak as it sounds, bc the latent belief in such happenings allows them to be memed into existence by political entrepreneurs

There's also a trend where the left seems to actively want to step on particular focal points as a way of rubbing in paper victories, which does create coordinating opportunities

The "beans, bullets, and bullion" response is complex. Low tier variant is consumerism, partially impotent apocalypticism, but the more serious strains emphasize above all else community, communications, and survival in a Shitty Future rather than cinematic Shit Hits The Fan
