    As a Trauma Surgeon and survivor of I cannot believe the audacity of the to make such a divisive statement. We take care of these patients everyday. Where are you when I’m having to tell all those families their loved one has died.

    Someone should tell self-important anti-gun doctors to stay in their lane. Half of the articles in Annals of Internal Medicine are pushing for gun control. Most upsetting, however, the medical community seems to have consulted NO ONE but themselves.

    A reminder that some people in our field are alienating our female colleagues by flirting in settings that are meant to be professional and by trying to turn what should be topic- & setting-appropriate conversations into dates. Please don't do this.

    I am noticing a trend in women age 18-22 I’m mentoring— they try to network and get mentoring and go to meetups and literally every guy they try to talk with gets flirty They’re *blocked* from this professional advancement because so many guys jump straight into trying to date

    As eloquently explains, privacy is very important, but it’s not my #1 concern as a woman traveling solo: protecting myself from violence is. Mutually understood and respected privacy, processes, and records, help me protect myself from violence.

    The reporting out of this event so far has noted "privacy" concerns. The fact of the matter is, a male's chief concern is privacy. Women's includes that, but our high order bit is that this policy designed to keep people safe from gun attacks *increases* our chance of assault.
