The whole purpose of impeachment procedures is to investigate whether allegations of criminal behavior have merit or not. The special counsel suggests that in the report. Muller was very clear that if they could have cleared up the president, they would have done so.

I imagine if only 1% of what is described in the report had happened in *any* previous administration, R or D. It'd be a huge scandal. Sadly, the GOP is seen right now in districts such as mine as having lost any principles. That's the scenario you're facing if you want to win.

What I mean is that I have the hunch you'll need to change many perceptions to win, and uncritically and systematically siding with the administration will gain you the support just of those who already favor it. Those seem to be a small minority here.
