Socialism is so incredibly awful that I can’t comprehend how some people think sticking “democratic” in front of it somehow makes it palatable.

It's just taking back what was stolen. What's so bad about that? What do you think capital is if not expropriated labour? Why should key aspects of our lives be in private hands? Why not do to universities, utilities, housing, transport, banking what we already do with schools?
We’re 28th in the world grades 1-12th & spend more than all the first ten countries put together. Another ie that most things run by bureaucrats end in failure. If studying our neighbors is too much to ask 
no further to historically dem run cities in our very own country.
