A note – we love Greenways but they’re budgeted as tourism facilities. We focus on everyday cycling for transport. People of rural Ireland need more than greenways to get to school, work, our local shops & sports grounds. We demand better.

We get asked, a lot, how to vote for cycling. We would never explicitly recommend one party or another, or one candidate or another. See below our national advocacy network's objective analysis of the various parties' manifestos on cycling.

"I am asking for urgency." - "This is something the people want. Please can we just get on with it?" - "The time for action is now." - The Route has serious political momentum now. ✊🏼

San Francisco removed private cars from a 3km section of their main thoroughfare last week and it's beautiful. Buses and trams moving unimpeded and cyclists enjoying a quieter road.

"What used to be a dark and inhospitable link road between the centre and the inner ring road, had become a food mecca, lined with buzzing terraces of new restaurants" ❓What magic conjured this transformation? The street’s closure to motor

"Northern Europe, and in particular Denmark and the Netherlands rank as the top places in the world for cycling. Why does cycling as a means for transport and leisure work so well in Northern Europe and what makes Ireland any different?"

35.26% of those polled said they'd ditch the car for the public transport route if it were better. That's 30.26% of commuters off the road and into sustainable transport! :) is a decent service more expensive financially & environmentally than a bypass?

Example of poorly designed cycling infrastructure in Goatstown. Must give priority to the Motor, despite travelling on priority road.

At last, we’ve got all the party manifestos. <cracks knuckles> We’re judging promises against our 10 Asks to Make Cycling Better and Safer for All. Our priorities for everyday cycling are funding, infrastructure, and resources.
