    Dzmitry's talk on webGPU and rust was super good. I am excited for an openGL replacement that is not as complicated as Vulkan :)

    After talking with this week, I'm now really excited about superoptimizers! It's like: what if we could fuzz a code — but instead of yielding bugs, we search for optimizations. When a new optimization is found it's saved, so that it can later be integrated in compilers

    I'm, surprisingly, not minding nil pointers too much - I guess C++ and Java background helps. However, If you thought null was bad, Go's nil is kind of insane - there is nil and there are nil slices. nil can be implicitly converted to a nil slice, but the two are not equal

    Rust compiler performance is hard to have meaningful discussions about because: (1) There’s no single part of the compiler which is slow. In fact the compiler is pretty well optimized.

    C++17 added optional initializers to if statements. Of course, since you can put declarations there, this lets you define classes in the condition of an if statement. if (struct { operator bool() { return true; } } b; b) { std::cout << "🙃"; }

    UPDATE: we will get the ball rolling. We are starting with some brainstorming sessions, in a couple of weeks we will be harvesting neurons from our GPU gurus including the illustrious , see if we can come up with a high level concept that makes sense. Stay tuned.
