They are of American history not Irish. What is the connection?

Connemara is in Ireland, they are pictures of Irish people taken in the 1930s (the photographer was an American)

For all the comments saying no to colorization - these are from the 30s so typical of the time. For modern techniques & staggering authenticity look at
