Neocon John Bolton was a key architect behind the catastrophic Iraq invasion, which also saw Iraq’s oil moved from an entirely state-run enterprise to American companies running the oil. The results have devastated the Iraqi People, not helped them.

The Iraq adventure didn't really help American citizens either. The subsidies making gasoline in Iraq cheap locally came out of their pockets, as did the six figure truck driver salaries to bring it in. American taxpayers are incredibly generous to corporations..

Yes US companies got very little of the Iraqi oil production contracts, too. Not that "US company" means anything when Americans can own stock in Shell, Sinopec, Lukoil, ENI, Total.
