I think maths is great and really fun! I think the reason why kids hate it in school (me included) is that it didn't have much context.
"What's the point in algebra?" "Why do we have to learn trigonometry?" ...the answer while in school is "it's on the exam".

I only really learnt to appreciate maths after school; not only when I apply it in my work, but just cool things about maths in general.
