It's worded poorly, but he's saying simple games are fun... The reactions I've seen are people saying that he's minimising the difficulty of making games. Which isn't what it's about?
It's still a bad take. It's like saying "all cooks should learn from Papa John's and start making pizza". 1) It's a problem for the restaurant owners, not the cooks. 2) Nobody's denying that pizza is unsuccessful. 3) If all you had to eat was pizza, food would be very boring.
