Certain types of problems are best to ignore, but there are also problems that if ignored grow exponentially and eventually become so large they suck all of the air out of the room. I wish there were an easier way (other than experience) to identify which is which.

Optimism bias is a tendency to believe that things will turn out well in spite of past evidence or circumstances. It can be extremely helpful. Optimists are often healthier and happier. But it can also undermine us. May your optimism be well-founded.
