Why not? Last time, their 'action' was rewarded with decades-long prosperity. This time, the tough, authoritarian suppression of HK's dissidents would bring ultimate stability to the region, as they proclaim. They think the benefits to the country outweigh the damage done to HK.

Thank you for speaking out against the groundless sentencing. Political persecution is prevalent in HK nowadays as Beijing tightens its control on our liberty. Freedom loving nations should keep an eye on HK.
