Nice lady I met at a party: I work for GM, what do you do?
Me: I work for Xbox.
NLIMaaP: Oh, do you get to play games all day?
Me: Do you just drive cars all day?
NLIMaaP: <laughs> You get asked that question a lot, huh

Dance Dance Immolation was a Dance Dance mod made by an industrial art collective that spayed fire on you if you messed up. I did it once, it was bonkers and amazing.

Remember when Trump called your wife ugly and said your dad was a murderer? I totally do.
So any time you tweet some kind of tough guy nonsense, I think, oh wow, what kind of man licks the boot of someone who insulted his family like that.
So you want to make a videogame documentary? Can I suggest you set your documentary *after* 1990, instead of re-treading the exact same territory of every other videogame documentary? Creation stories are cool, but it turns out the industry actually kept going after 1989!

It took you five days to figure out that harassing a paying guest in your own lobby was termination-worthy?

More than 70 console demos shipping on Xbox for the Summer Game Fest Demo Event!
I used to bring my Xbox with me when I traveled. It was fun but inconvenient. Now I bring a controller and play Xbox via xCloud and it's kind of magical.
With all due respect to the rad people on the Forbes list this year, here is my list of five "30s" I'd vastly rather see than yet another 30-under-30 list.
As one of the commenters on the post says, "you're never too old to make art."
Read this cool story about a 70 year old Brazilian poet making his first game and starting a new studio.

I sign every ID@Xbox publishing contract, and when I get to co-sign a contract with a dev I really admire it's always kind of exciting! I've gotten to sign contracts with so many cool people!
The day before he said he stood behind the employees who perpetrated the "horror" so which is it? He's sorry or he supports what happened?
Over the holiday I modded an old SP with an IPS screen and a new case. (It glows in the dark!) Also a new battery to replace the bulging (!) old one. Fun project and fun to walk down memory lane with these games!
My son just said "you didn't grow up in an era when kids told outrageous lies about fake things in games."
I heard if you go far enough in Battlezone you can get to the volcano. Did I tell you this kid in this other neighborhood unlocked Shen Long? My friend's brother saw it!
Best practices for Achievements:
Give an achievement in the first 5 or 10 minutes of play.
Playing through the core game should get a player ~40 - 50% of the gamerscore
Use Achievements to encourage players to check out things like bonus content...
I feel like cheating on your wife and committing felony campaign law violations to cover it up is kind of more disrespectful.
On Xbox as players scroll through the new releases, your trailer will start to play.
I would gently suggest that this may not the place to have a long, slow, cinematic start to your trailer that takes 45 seconds to get through the logos slowly fading in and out...
For absolute beginners, who want to get into game development the best investment you can make, if you can afford it, is $12 a month for YouTube Premium. The reality is that all the best game engine tutorials and information are on YouTube right now...
Games that say "press any key to start" and *then* start loading?
Like, what the heck were you waiting for on that pointless modal display box, game?
Just load! I wouldn't have started the game if I didn't want to play.
Please never do this.
Today we hit 1,000 games shipped on Xbox via the program! Over the past 5 years the ID team has been privileged to work some of the greatest game devs ever, and on behalf of players everywhere I just want to say we're super thankful for all the amazing work you do!

My dad hasn't had visits to his nursing home since COVID. Today his wife was able to visit him and he's like "oh! You look just like my wife Liz" and then burst out laughing because he's a giant troll and the only part of his brain that survived the stroke was the dad joke part.
When you play Cuphead and see how polished the gameplay is, remember... This is 's *first* game! It's an amazing accomplishment!

Developers going through the ID@Xbox program have earned more than $1.2B in royalties since 2014.
(I was quoted, correctly, saying "Xbox has paid more than $1.2B to devs," but I want to make it clear that it was royalties the devs had earned from sales!)
