Success doesn't come in one flavor. In the last quarter, Atlassian spent: 17% of revenue on sales & marketing (S&M) 42% of revenue on research & development (R&D) OTOH, Zoom spent: 58% of revenue on S&M 11% of revenue on R&D Both companies are very free cash flow generative.

Fin/ Don't mean to bash the company. Casper built a $400 million revenue business in a crowded market. Mad respect. With that said, I found the S-1 VERY entertaining. Hope you have too :)

7/ Ok, if you've made it this far you deserve a little analysis. Bonuses are tied to a multiplier based on the number of months EBITDA is positive in the year. 😬 Let's just say opening more stores might actually help this metric...did someone say depreciation??

5/ Another one of my favorites. *person walks in a Casper store* *Casper employee* "Hey, are you interested in one of our innovative platforms?" *customer* "Wait, I thought this was a mattress store??"

4/ Just wanted to throw this in there. Can someone help me figure out the top-right one? After long, serious thought I figured out the other ones.

3/ Arguably my favorite graphic. Didn't realize pajamas were such an enticing "economy." In fact, pajamas are larger than collaborative software. Amazing.

2/ In other terms, Casper's "sleep economy" is worth 21 Slack TAMs. Seems legit. Everybody's gotta sleep right??

1/ I was trying to give Casper a shot but, at times, it felt silly. Let's start with "the global sleep economy" $585 billion When you use "economy" vs. "market" maybe you can inflate the already-stretched TAM definitions??

Peloton's financing is interesting. You can buy a $2,262 exercise bike for 39 monthly payments of $58 at 0% APR. The catch? The content is $39/month. So 39*(39+58) = $3,783 0% APR reduces churn, keeping customers for at least 39 months.

From Amazon's 2009 Shareholder letter This is what it means to have customer obsession: Focus on the inputs (customer experience, lower prices, etc.) and the outputs (financials) will follow.
