I think the biggest issue here isn’t the police getting access to Ring camera footage, but that citizens are given the ability to label anyone they see fit as suspicious. This will only propagate stereotypes.

Yes. Uber has a "suspected sex trafficking" button in their driver app, and it primarily used with riders that are women of color and/or transgender. These apps are used to propagate ethnic profiling and are bad for our society.

Tbf I put a camera on my doorbell with the idea that if shit goes down the video would be in the hands of cops. Most people are fine that it happens automatically.

As the article points out, the distribution of these videos is not limited to cops, nor are the videos necessarily of people who have committed crimes. That's very different from a responsible individual giving footage of a crime to the police.
