The secret is knowing that nobody else has it all together either.

So often we think about what our kids will do when they grow up and how we can help. I want to be the type of dad who thinks about what type of PERSON they’ll become and how I can help.

Some morning thoughts on audio as a media format on product detail pages - curious why we haven't seen this executed yet.

Building off of the platforms of others can definitely work. Lots of examples of job sites leveraging existing platforms, etc. But platforms are brittle, can cut you off overnight. You better be working on an organic channel you own at the same time.

This isn’t to suggest I did the right thing - I didn’t. She needed my support in the moment and I failed. I clearly still have work to do myself.

Last night a male friend made a joke to a female friend re: her appearance. I wish I had called him on it. I didn’t. I did apologize to her, and told my wife I don’t want to have him over anymore. Men - bad behavior will lead to fewer friends and less influence. Bet on it.

The secret to movements is not actually the movement maker. They look foolish to most - social deviance is a powerful deterrent. The difference makers are often the early supporters who de-risk it for others, who make it safe to belong. Cheerleading can change the world.

The Twitter that actively roots for people to fail, and relishes when they do is my least favorite Twitter.

The secret to being a 10x salesperson isn’t really a secret at all. 1️⃣ REALLY listen to your customer(s). Deeply understand their needs, and care about them as people. 2️⃣ Be RIDICULOUSLY disciplined about outreach and follow up.

Find a product that’s 10 years old. Talk to customers. Find out what sucks about it. Hone in on the KEY frustration. Good chance it’s become a Frankenstein over time. Build a competitor, focusing ALL your energy on that key frustration. Go to market as David to their Goliath.

Great question to ask in pitch meetings: “What terrifies you right now? What could bring this whole thing crashing down?” - Can they identify their blind spots? - Do they understand the business as a system and know it’s weak points? - How do they plan to mitigate them?

Call it unauthentic. Call it whatever. But I will not dump on or make fun of anyone’s startup, anyone’s article, anyone’s presentation, anyone’s idea. Even if I don’t always agree. It’s hard to put yourself out there. You have enough critics. I want to be the cheerleader.

Just being cultural aware & present, it doesn’t even have to be about Elliot. Also, just be authentic. Not everyone’s going to like it, but that’s not your problem. I got started with 60ish followers mid-October & just been tryna keep it 💯

Twitter can be THE primary channel for user acquisition. And it’s free. It takes a strong leader, willing to put themselves out there, committed to radical transparency. Some great examples: - Gumroad - Lambda - (happening now) Elliot

Quick TikTok case study: About 3 months ago we started DMing and sending free product to anyone with a decent following (5k+). We’ve sent ~100 units costing ~$2k. Yesterday a review video did over 2 million views and we did over $50k in sales (avg. day ~$8k).
