A power problem has taken out the core network in JIC B30. We hope to have power restored very soon.
A network device has failed on the 1st floor of B30. This is affecting some wireless access points and ~10 desktop ports. We are prepping a replacement; all will be operational again shortly.
As part of planned improvements to the NBI network, essential maintenance needs to be carried out on Saturday 30 June 2018, between 08:00 – 10:00. Disruption will be kept to a minimum with only brief intermittent loss to internet access expected during this time.
Issue with JIC telephone line at the moment. Outgoing routing via IFR. Incoming not working.

There seems to be an issue with the JANET network causing certain sites to be less responsive than normal. They are investigating.
We're investigating an issue with sending SMTP (automated) mails. Standard emails are not affected.
Apple have released security updates for both macOS Sierra (10.12.3) and iOS (10.2.1),addressing multiple *critical* vulnerabilities.

Eduroam issues resolved in. Conf. Centre. Unfortunately fix is disruptive so having to be careful about applying to the rest of the site.
We're investigating an issue with Eduroam affecting some areas of the site
Telephony fault confirmed to be at the exchange. BT will fix either this PM or tomorrow AM.
Outgoing calls are sharing IFR's trunk, so will work as long as they are not overwhelmed at the time.
We are investigating an issue with the telephone system. Looks like the EI/JIC/TSL BT trunk might be down. This means no incoming calls.
Flood in B26 server room yesterday. Primary isilon and all cluster services affected. CiS will give restoration ETA when known.
our main SQL server is unhappy about something. Affecting intranet & other services. We're investigating...
We are installing eduroam enabled access points in the centrum. Hopefully will be live before the end of the week.
we're investigating an issue that is occasionally causing EDUROAM logins to fail when you are at another organisation.
just had connectivity issues to google servers. everything else was working. investigating why.

JANET network under DDOS attack again. Filtering is in place which seems to be helping. Work is continuing

JANET networking currently under DDOS attack (again). Some websites may be slow to respond.
4 NBI Macs have been "bricked" by the recent Apple update. PLEASE make sure you have backups of your data; esp. before an OS update!
Outlook 2011 no longer works from off site due to a security vulnerability. Upgrade to v2016 or connect to VPN first.
we're investigating problems with Mac outlook v2011 not connecting when off-site. v2016 seems OK as does web access:webmail.nbi.ac.uk
Our primary JANET connection is down. Services operating on the backup link without loss of service. Nice when things work as they should!
Partial power failure in TSL has taken out the WiFi in the coffee area and wired connections in the adjacent office.
"staff" Wi-Fi network closing at end March. Please move to "eduroam" as soon as possible.
Eduroam for personal devices now available. Connect to "eduroam setup" wireless network for guided setup instructions.
Blocks which janet put in place to stop the DDoS are working. There has been no service impact since 09/12/15 PM, despite continuing attacks
Denial of service attacks on janet network are continuing. Blocks put in place seem to be effective so far.

NBI VPN now supports connection from Windows 10. All but Linux clients should update automatically.
VPN to be updated to support Windows 10 on Saturday 24th. VPN may be disrupted for very short periods throughout the upgrade.
