I mean more in the sense of smooth social structure, e.g. hyperbolic geometry of complex nets providing an infrastructure for targeted transport games that enables greedier strategies, this in turn increasing social robustness as that's harder to fuck up at individual scale.

Do organisms already structure their internal systems in this fashion?

To what extent I do not know and afaik there isn't much investigation on the topic, but in some cases yes. Some, hopefully interesting, refs: https://arxiv.org/abs/1006.5169 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/29635317 https://www.worldscientific.com/doi/abs/10.1142/9789812817723_0004 … https://arxiv.org/abs/1606.00331 https://royalsocietypublishing.org/doi/10.1098/rsfs.2012.0035 …

Thank you. I was thinking, informally, of fractal dimensional vasculature allowing sum-of-local-action regulation of oxygen/nutrient/waste product transport.

ya, although fractality isn't a horribly productive way to think about it, more like optimal transport and riemannian geometry (but also some neat other stuff)pic.twitter.com/reUcOLgJ3j
