I think numbers on their own tend to dissppear to the back of our brain. Describe it in terms of sonething tangible, and people can grasp it. Hence why "for the price of a cup of coffee a day" was a popular pitch.

Ok I’m muting this. But before I go... Analogue insulin is being price gouged in the USA. UNRIGHTFULLY. It is $6 to produce. Its formula is 20+y/o. In other countries, it’s $30 or less. Here are the facts. Source: Dr Rajkumar Mayo Clinic

Oh also!! If you would like to actually learn about what’s going on, I have made a thread defining the basic terms of the insulin price gouging crisis. Check it out!

Just going to leave this here before I head to bed tonight so people will stop sliding in my DMs telling me “how to get off insulin.”

Ok also just putting this out there: I am not currently in need of any insulin donations. I stated in the thread I am still on my parent’s insurance and can rely on them.
I never said in my tweet that I was in need! But many people are rationing.
Thanks for your concerns!Prikaži ovu nit

Might not be accurate but I saw someone saying that you can get it for $27 at Costco

That’s a different kind of insulin. It’s an older formula called human insulin. The expensive type everyone is talking about is analog (or synthetic) insulin. Human insulin is veeeery different and many people have died trying to use it.

do you have insurance? and if so, is it STILL that high?

-
Yes I do I’m on my parent’s insurance still as a married 23y/o. That’s diabetes for ya.
But no, it’s not that much w/ insurance. I’m tweeting ab list price. But we have paid list price MANY times since my diagnosis in 2011. My parents are self-employed, deductible around $9k - Još 5 drugih odgovora
