    Insider attack resistance (as an explicit threat model) means that even Google or the respective device OEM - with full access to firmware singing keys - will be unable to create firmware that can exfiltrate keys without user consent. See blog post for details.

    It seems that academia is nearly the only reasonably neutral body left to analyze and point out abuse without immediate implications to the bottom line (which ignores the problem of grant funding, but still...)?

    The things websites are doing to track users are totally abusive and messed up. This is great work. But why does it take academic research to uncover this stuff?
