I've seen a lot of people saying I was "right" about Cyberpunk and that I must feel vindicated by the backlash toward the game and yes it is fun to see the 180 on Reddit BUT

I never try to be "right" when I'm writing or editing because, well, I have no idea what other sites are going to give a game! I thought my review of TLOU2 was going to be among the most positive, which ended up not being the case at all.

I'm never worried about being an outlier in the sense that I won't be "correct" about a game, but I am *always* worried about the unpredictable ways in which my words will be twisted and used against me, no matter how carefully I craft and edit them.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I won't feel truly vindicated until reviewers can do this job without that fear, regardless of their opinion.

I will never understand ppl's confusion on this point. Diverse opinions on games are valuable bc it's easier for more ppl to find someone with a similar taste. The whole "you're opinion is wrong bc you should've liked X" does no one a service
