The forced removal of long-time Palestinian residents in Sheikh Jarrah is abhorrent and unacceptable. The Administration should make clear to the Israeli government that these evictions are illegal and must stop immediately.https://apnews.com/article/jerusalem-middle-east-israel-lifestyle-religion-f4c2594aab82ca8117c39b577a42ff01 …

@infocraving curious. Did you have the same sentiments for the U.S. after the Capitol insurrection? Or does Israel have its’ own standard? -
The Capital insurrectionists are being arrested and indicted as quickly as they can be identified by their social media posts. Rule of law doesn't mean no one ever breaks the law. It means that they are held accountable when they do.

FYI this is still being debated in the Israeli supreme court

In that case police enforcement of the status quo would be appropriate to keep people from being kicked out of their houses by random strangers until the legal situation is figured out. Currently it is theoretically illegal in Israel to steal someone's house, right?

They do. The rule of law here is that the Palestinian residents should have been paying rent to proper owner of the land for years, and haven't. That was land that belonged to Jews before Jordan took it in 1948...and gave it to Arabs a few years later.
