Phew! Good to know they aren't being subsidized by the taxpayers through government like everybody says they are.
Lawmakers passed protective legislation to keep these Social Media companies safe from lawsuits against content hosted by their platform. YouTube, and other social media are exploiting that at the moment.
Now these Social Media companies are censoring their platforms, and thus pushing an extreme liberal bias ... meaning that the platform itself is no longer a "neutral and level field" for published content ...
So it is up to the lawmakers to consider if these companies should still be protected against the consequences of their hosted content. YouTube has changed the algorithm in the last year to favor liberal mainstream media channels and suppress conservative voices
Since these companies seem to be willing to police their content themselves, it stands to reason that they should be willing to accept legal responsibility for their platform as well.
