Completely disappointed in the statement by @SenWarren about being “capitalist to her bones”. Not the tune she was singing when she unseated Scott Brown. She got a little taste of that sweet sweet donor cash and abandoned whose who have supported her. Equally as disappointed in
@SenDuckworth and her reaction regarding @Ocasio2018. As one of the medics who helped save her life in 2004, that is a particularly painful statement for me to make. I never expected anything less from @NancyPelosi in her rebuff of Ocasio-Cortez’s win. They’re democrats. The
theater that got each of them elected has long since faded. They’ve gotten unacceptably comfortable in office, never dreaming they can be replaced. Look, I can admit that money’s great. I wished I had more of it. I’d never be willing to sell my soul to achieve that end.
The disdainful responses from these particular “ladies of the left” to ACO’s victory was that of indignation because it was a reminder to them that policies truly win hearts and minds, NOT people and that they in fact CAN be replaced. So let’s fucking replace them. Being
in Congress does not preclude you from accountability. Being a Democrat doesn’t mean we can’t see your complicity in the shit show that is our current federal state of affairs. I’d say something about @SenSchumer’s de facto employment with Israel but frankly, I’m not surprised.
What I AM ready to do is get these assholes the fuck out of my government. Almost more so than the GOP. We’re never going to agree wholesale on any one candidate but we need to find the ones that most align with our beliefs and do what we have to in order to elect them.
Obama was right about one thing - we can’t afford to wait for the candidate that gives us that special feeling inside. I don’t care if it’s a ham sandwich with meat that has turned - if it represents policies that best benefit me, it has my vote. I’m not voting for a woman for
the bragging right of having helped put a woman in office. Now apply that same argument to religion, skin color and sexual preference. None of that matters to me. It’s the policies, stupid.
Why do you say Warren has abandoned those who have supported her?
Progressives large in part put her in office. She was going in hot for the banks involved in the 2008 financial crisis which has since been buried. Banks are one of the largest pillars of capitalism, which she supports, are they not? It was an act and many of us fell for it.
