I think I saw this at the height of the PC VGA bump mapping phase (in 2D) but I can't find any actual footage of demos doing it.
Which doesn't really matter at all anway, it looks awesome and is a cool feat and you should show it off at some demo party!!!

Best of all, it doesn’t use much CPU at all, so it can be combined with all sorts of effects, digitized sound, borders etc. Any demo people interested?

Sure looks like it (that dragon). That thing is so brilliant I’d believe them if they claimed they’re raytracing in real-time.

I’ve seen this video and Mr Ferrari gives a great talk. And while he does a lot of color cycling tricks (masterfully), I think my technique is special in that it doesn’t „cycle“ colors but calculates each palette entry individually. Also, I haven’t seen multiple colored lights.
