I filed lambdas under unnecessary complexity :) Delegates are basically function pointers, so a handful of defensible uses I reckon.

Main use I can think of is telling a button what to do when you press it. Alternative is a whole class per type of action.

I basically use them everywhere (and optimize them away later if they're slow), but never use delelgates.
