base64 is fun, but I'd like one with common unicode characters that doesn't include non-word characters (so it can be double click selected)
. @increpare has anyone made this? or have a list of such characters? (for easily copy/pasteable data strings)

@increpare a lot of base64 libraries let you specify which 2 non-alphanumeric characters you want to use, so it may be possible there. -
@increpare (base64 is supposed to encode into ASCII, so you'd need to use a "high-level" library that just produced unicode strings.) - 6 more replies

@increpare I remember having issues with this too. I'd like to feed base64 an array of valid chars. -
@docky if you already have an implementation, you can process it to swap the characters with ones that you like.

@increpare Does base58 fit the bill? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Base58 Seems pretty much expressly designed for this purpose -
@D_W_Roberts I'm not explaining myself clearly enough, sorry :( I would like a much larger (eg. 4000) character set rather than smaller (58)

@increpare It does note 'for large integers' though, so not sure if it can take arbitrarily long payloads and string them togetherThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
