The best part of having a custom engine is custom effects. Yeah I realize I could probably do it with Unity, too, but it might be harder.

@increpare Which is really simple to do and mess with in C++, but I imagine it would be a PITA to get a proper engine to do this.#adhocftw -
@psysal you can have multiple cameras in unity rendering over eachother, and fiddle with rendering orders/what gets rendered by each camera. - 3 more replies
