I recently built a pc and almost went for this case and an itx build. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/streacom-da2-mini-itx-case-silver-ca-05h-sr.html … Sounds like it can be a pain to put together these small cases though.

For the last five years I've tried to build around one of those snazzy little cases until I discover that the motherboards are shit and overpriced, most GPUs won't fit and the cooling is abominable. Has it gotten better?

If you want to build your own, I really like the Shuttle XPC cube cases, they're small enough I've regularly flown with mine in checked luggage: http://global.shuttle.com/products/productsList?categoryId=19 …

(The only issue with SFF cases is many of them — including the Shuttles — will limit what GPUs you can use, since you specifically need a low-profile GPU. When I built that machine ~3 years ago, needing a low-profile GPU just limited my options, it wasn't more expensive)

Look up GPD Win 2 and check if it runs the games you want to play at full speed. Not the best performance for $700+, but fits in your pocket with built in controller and full windows 10.

if you're up for building or paying someone to... do a Dan A4, Ryzen 3700, ITX board...

To my understanding Dell Optiplexes are surprisingly good. Bc (I assume) of their target market I sometimes see them in bargain stores
