Just want to point out that Charity actually has a French/Latin root (charité/caritas, respectively). So that's 6:1 for virtue. Others might also be incorrect, this one I happened to know.
Hi :) I did it from the perspective of middle english. OED gives charity as being in late old english, so I counted it as an indigenous word. (Wiktionary gives it as late middle english. So dunno!).
the same thing happens in the other direction for pride, which entered entered late old english from french. So that keeps the score basically the same...
