you can make a decent double-spiral just by shifting a bunch of concentric circles over

Never let *anyone* tell you you can't make a spiral by gluing semicircles together.

Two people I know/are in the process of losing sleep over it after me having recommended it to them, one of who professed to strongly disliking match 3 games. So I thought I'd spread the word further. (Originally recommended to me by ).

One nice mechanic is that units telegraph in advance how many turns in the future they'll attack in. The big 3 turn-based tactics games I know in terms of telegraphing are this, Solium Infernum (casus beli mechanic), Into the Breach, this. [Could be good talk/article topic!]

Clash of Heroes (DS version only) is an excellent tactics/match-3 game.

MIT mystery hunt weekend 2020 is over. you can browse the puzzles and boggle at the solutions. It’s really bananas...( and stood out for me as being especially elegant, though there’s so much amazing stuff)

does anyone know how to close these floating browser windows on iPad? (related: how do you even reliably open them in the first place?). [current method, drag the floating windows to a split fullscreen pane, hide that pane, open up the app browser and close the browser window]

[The big difference in Picross is that you get information about contiguous segments in (e.g. [2,3] a group of 2 and a group of 3), which Radon doesn't give you (it would just tell you "5") ]

If you do this for lots of positions, moving/rotating the laser around, then only knowing the position of the laser and how much light was absorbed (i.e. how much matter was in the path of the ray), you can try to reconstruct the shape of the object. (kind of) like Picross! [2/2]

This wikipedia page is uncommonly unclear. Radon transform is like - you have a laser say, you point it at an object and see how much light is absorbed by it - the more matter the object passes through the more light is absorbed. [1/2]
