@YouTube I have had my channel and been a partner since 2011. Now I find out that I am losing my monetization after almost 7 years. Punishing small creators for the mistake of one. 4000 hours of watch time? How does this make sense? #YouTubePartnerProgram

I have 39k minutes of watch time and need 201k more to continue to be a partner. The Partner Program was meant to help small channels grow. But we can’t get featured and struggle for traffic unless we are big channels. Now we can’t even be partners?

We carefully considered the growth of smaller channels in the decision making process. Monetization doesn't impact how videos appear in search or how they're promoted/recommended. Also creator features and tools are still available.

Small YouTubers aren’t rich. We can’t invest in marketing. We can’t invest in lighting. We can’t invest in editing. It may not be a lot, but the money that we do make from advertising is what some of us use to grow.
