2) I was groomed (unsuccessfully...thank god) to be a male macho heteronormative predator at an early age by parents who really loved me but didn't know any better. And my parents were very progressive. It's no surprise that abuse, sexual and otherwise, has been normalized...

3) The macho male is still seen as the ultimate form of success in the USA and I don't think that's going away soon. Men's inability to adopt this persona leads to even more mental strife and stress, as we can see by the incel movement and the "The Game" Nice guy movement...
