    I feel like a lot of US citizens don’t quite get how hard it is to get an immigrant visa even if you are super qualified—many friends/family have struggled w the H1-B lottery or spent months applying for an O1 or got denied entry even though they have MIT degrees/great jobs/etc

    My 8yr old on a drawing app (Procreate) on her iPad goes through a long explanation on how she created two layers in a drawing and erased the top layer in a 6x mirrored way. I asked her how she learned to do that and she said Tiktok! My Tiktok ban is not being followed...

    Whenever I get a second sales email I assume I am being targeted by a drip email campaign and reply "no thanks" I don't think the other side has ever responded back to that. Works great. Gmail should automate this.

    After the Chinese New Year 50m+ people aren’t going to go to work in China due to lockdowns in major cities. If the virus is not quickly contained I can see it causing a Chinese recession and potentially a subsequent global recession. Talk about crazy black swan events!

    Talking to happy customers is a real thrill thats hard to explain. We hosted an event yesterday with some top customers and that was very uplifting and today received this text from another customer. Makes the years of hard work and stress all worth it.

    Superhuman does an onboarding call not a demo call. That’s a new paradigm and different from a pre-sales demo call. For those calling that out as a counter example.

    4/ it’s hard to hear no from an investor you respect but this is why you shouldn’t take it personally and you should always work a pipeline when fund raising. Pipeline should have 20+ active conversations at seed stage and 10+ at series A.

    3/ C: Partners at series A+ VC firms often make ~2 per year, so they can be quickly over stretched. Unfortunately as with B this doesn’t stop them taking the meeting with an entrepreneur even if it’s near impossible for an entrepreneur to get a yes from the VC

    3/ I think B is bad behavior but it happens fairly often that a seed investor hasn’t yet raised their fund but are happy to continue to talk to entrepreneurs and hear pitches. Raising a fund can take many months so investors are sometimes in this limbo state for a while.

    2/ An example of A would be: you are a direct to consumer cpg play but the investor only does software. There are lots of such off thesis scenarios and often it’s not obvious that your company is off thesis to a given VC/investor till you talk to them.

    1/ A lot of the time when an investor passes on a deal it has nothing to do with how good your company is. Three common reasons: A) your company is off thesis B) investor doesn’t have funds C) investor has invested too much recently and is being extra picky
