It’s shocking when peer managers openly tell me they hate the “people” part of being a manager There are hard days & challenging relationships to navigate, but if you dislike it and dont see value in this work, then you probably shouldn’t be a manager & would be happier as an IC

Agreed on the importance of parallel career tracks for IC/Mgr. I def still see people who pivot roles for the wrong reasons- chasing titles instead of owning the responsibility to grow/motivate teams & build relationships. Totally valid to dislike this work & opt to grow as an IC
