From what I've read, the idea of the data mesh is focused mostly on warehousing, and I generally think that's right. Shared data models are a high leverage place to attempt to standardize knowledge because downstream analysts, DS and business users don't even know it's happening
But all the problems you cite can manifest themselves in code for analysis too! Data people love to bemoan how their analysis patterns are too unique or custom for standardization, and while I'm sympathetic, I'm not convinced it's impossible

In many cases, the assumptions of an analysis framework or statistical model are function like the integration points or APIs you mention, and some of the biggest problems arise from practitioners not understanding or willfully ignoring those assumptions

Just look at A/B tests. They are an incredibly widespread form of standardized data analysis, and one of the things that is most likely to make them worthless interpretation-wise is a violation of the stable unit treatment value assumption
