When someone asks you, “what would a staff [job title here] even look like?”, there’s a good chance they actually mean “I don’t respect this role”
No, not at all! Staff is a word used in industry for very senior roles. My original tweet was saying there are certain job titles that are perceived as requiring less skill or as being less prestigious, so people don't think there's a place for a very senior version of that role
