This is such a great thread! I'd add another confusing my thing to explain is that (in my exp) intuition is great for asking questions and investigating, but not for answering them (a bit like your user-action-X example)...

It's so tempting to see the answer and then stop investigating (whether right or wrong) but still have a reason for the number being high or low pop into one's head and then it feels like a thought through answer, but this is where the great finds are made if you keep digging!

Yeah, absolutely, and you're right about it being a huge opportunity. Asking "but wait, why?" is a great path to learning something new, and if you're doing the work for someone else, it's also a great chance to build trust by showing you're interested in their problems
