Learning about number theory makes me feel schizophrenic. Numbers have so many weird properties and patterns that seem like they should be messages from our Reptilian Humanoid Overlords or something

I'm not super deep yet, so my observations are probably not super insightful :p I have been reflecting that a lot of the stuff I've learned so far (like digit summing) feels weird until you realize it was developed in an era where people did computation by hand.
It's also pretty cool that early computers used things like digit summing to check their own math. It'd be fascinating to learn the history of computation algorithms and how they've changed now that computation is mostly not being done by people

I learned a lot of number theory and the fundamental underpinnings of grade-school math during my MATH210 course
