I feel like this is really stupid, but I've been struggling for weeks (arguably months) to form the pieces for my D&D group's next adventure, and it's starting to really upset me that I can't quite make it click in my head so I can actually put pen to paper.

FWIW, collaborative storytelling is definitely what I aspire to too. Will check those articles out. My problem is that while I can work with improv to a point, doing things like setting up a full blown dungeon on the fly (especially on VTT) is out of my reach.

Like, in this case, the players have an objective they're working toward, and what I'm trying to write is the environment surrounding it (a village, rough outline of what's there, nearby dungeon that has the macguffin, but letting them figure out the "how" of it).
