One part of maturing as a professional is learning how to say "OMG what concoction of apathy and hallucinogenics did you people chug for a whole quarter to make this piece of garbage" in a constructive way that still gets people to listen and fix things...
The third party confidants are key, lol. The documentation part is interesting to me, tho. Is there a strong culture of institutionalizing knowledge through writing at your company?

I use "documenting" loosely. Sure, google has a gazillion slide decks bouncing around. But I like having things in slides because I can focus/highlight/call out the important stuff without letting people get distracted. Also good to have things to point back to as 'work I did'

That makes sense. It sounds like it's about creating artifacts of your work that can be easily shared, making it possible for you to influence without being present
