I'm realizing that being a manager is not as valued as being an IC. Let me tell a truth: Being a (good) manager is the hardest job ever!
Something that's very hard to adjust to, is that feedback loops as a manager are way longer than they are as an IC. It's much harder to understand how you've contributed and whether it worked the way you intended
