hmm, looking at these, i notice a few things -clothes can affect what hairdos are good: the ponytail actually works better with my current shirt than loose hair, but loose works better with other clothes -lighting is v. important, i actually turned my desk around to get better...

...lighting, originally i could barely see my face -wow my posture sucks ass -my selfie game sucks too, unsurprising given these are my 3rd-6th selfies ever (https://twitter.com/visakanv/status/1207374320625799168 …)
ian hines added,
alternating between "i cant even tell the difference between any of these hairstyles" and "that is far too much effort" also learning that actually doing things with my hair requires some hardcore proprioception (exhibit a and b of high-effort)pic.twitter.com/kagfuIHZmT
trying some more ponytails the higher ponytail feels weird, tension on different parts of my head. i think it looks a bit better though also a sort of half-ponytail attempt, where i tried to put half of my hair into a ponytail. it knotted up horribly but also looks neatpic.twitter.com/Uaa6yT3R9Y
