I think the reasons spaced repetition software isn’t mainstream are because 1) nobody knows how make an arbitrary chunk of info “atomic” 2) we haven’t figured out how to make it “fun” 3) it’s too static. When I see a card, I know that the back is gonna be exactly the same.
it might be worth putting in some ability to make random cards e.g. say im trying to learn linear algebra, i could have a card that would generate a random matrix and tell me to find the determinate this might be doable with anki html support already?

Right! That's what I had in mind for the model and view thing. The "model" would be the idea of the determinant, and the views would be the random cards (and any card that asks some piece of info about a determinant).https://twitter.com/JoshuaLelon/status/1259170940124045314?s=20 …

The matrix idea itself could be doable with Anki HTML... but what about JS? It seems like I'll run into a lot of limitations with Anki trying to make this dynamic.
