wondering how people say e-girl in other languages. I'm guessing they probably say e-girl, the way they say email. will the dash eventually become redundant as well? e-nińa e-fille e-mädchen e-sonyeo e-ladakee e-fata e-jente e-kiz e-ti fi e-kaikamahine e-ntombazana e-menina

Agree to some degree, but surely a shared understanding of how something is spelled makes information transfer more efficient?

depends on what information youre trying to transfer the direct, literal meaning of the words: yes but wording choices can be used to signify information sources, social groups, etc having information about that canonized makes it a lot harder to transmit second-order info
