ideological hijacking and memetic advantage there are woke things that are anti-consumerism, but the advertisers hide them while helping the pro-consumerist wokeness advertisers are very good at spreading ideology, much better than activists

the term woke was originally about police brutality, i believe but it also came from old-school lefties: unions, workers rights, etc some older feminists talked about childrens liberation (i.e. no industrial schooling) (we call it unschooling now)

there are many examples of activists being bad at spreading ideology and neither of us have heard of almost any of them because they are too technical and take their ideas too far for most people
