Besides economic growth, what other non-obvious changes would we make if we truly valued future lives as much as we do ours? - Maybe we would record everything as to have data for future generations - Maybe voluntarily-requested euthanasia would be seen as honorable/charitablehttps://twitter.com/eriktorenberg/status/1077643642074845184 …

Don’t you think better trauma therapy a la what was suggested at RISE and working to compress morbidity are preferable to euthanasia? Re: education, I think shifting to an educational savings account model as the default is a great place to starthttps://www.edchoice.org/school-choice/types-of-school-choice/education-savings-account/ …

1. Looping in
@Malcolm_Ocean &@SarahAMcManus who r prototyping a culture that minimises causing trauma in the first place. 2. Probs, hacking culture generators like Hollywood to promote non-traumatic cultures. 3. Abolish school. (But to do that you probably need to abolish jobs)4 replies 0 retweets 6 likes -

And for the responsive treatment: 1. Increasing physical play (maybe making video games more active?) 2. Businesses based on somatic therapies/meditation 3. More ritualised healing/grieving spaces like the Temple at Burning Man

At Burning Man 2018, I spent a morning exploring the emotion "Liget". I'm very drawn to creating a ritual space/event/ceremony for expressing this feeling, which I think is very pent-up in most westerners, even more than grief.https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2017/06/01/529876861/an-anthropologist-discovers-the-terrible-emotion-locked-in-a-word …

I'm envisaging a gathering, maybe autumn equinox...? Somewhere in nature (beach, forest?) where nobody who isn't part of it will be able to hear us. I needed to be out in the desert to let myself yell/howl/wail so loud. Had to really trust that nobody would hear→freak out.

@visakanv once gathered a bunch of people to do this, in a park instead of a desert. Maybe worth talking to him about it?https://twitter.com/MothershipSG/status/987648511708573696 …
